Missouri Metrc FAQ
Missouri Metrc
Medical cannabis was legalized in November 2018 through Amendment 2, which became Article XIV of the Missouri Constitution and empowered the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to establish a regulated system for safe access to medical cannabis. DHSS awarded Metrc its track-and-trace contract shortly after, with the system going live in 2019.
In November 2022, Missouri voters approved Amendment 3, legalizing adult-use cannabis, and all licensed businesses, including those serving the adult-use market, are required to use Metrc for inventory management, reporting, and tracking.

Metrc Training in Missouri
Metrc training is mandatory for all DCR-licensed cannabis businesses in Missouri and must be completed before you can access the system. New licensees can register at metrc.com/missouri using the "Schedule Training Now" button.
Training covers system navigation, data entry, inventory management, and Missouri-specific compliance requirements. Licensees already in the system can access advanced courses through Metrc Learn, available directly within your Metrc account.
All Missouri licensees pay a $40 monthly fee covering Metrc access, support, and training, and must separately purchase the RFID tags required for plants and products.
Many operators supplement Metrc's official training with third-party compliance support and integrated software. DCR maintains a list of Missouri-certified seed-to-sale providers at metrc.com/validated-integrators/#Missouri, or you can verify a specific provider by emailing CannabisLicense@health.mo.gov.
